Chapter 1319 - 98: Over the High Wall (Part 4)
"The Decision Room’s directive is that the recovery of inheritance is the highest priority. Under this priority, you can handle them as you wish."Furya didn’t spell it out, but in her view, the Decision Room’s intent was clear — execution on the spot.
"Is there a list?" Bologue asked.
Unlike some bizarre contract objects and forbidden alchemy armaments, in the Order Bureau’s classification, living containment usually refers to some out-of-control alchemical organisms.
They possess incredibly terrifying and uncontrollable power, but because of the preciousness of their specimens, they are not suitable for imprisonment in the Black Prison nor for harmless treatment, hence they are contained in the containment area.
"No, too many things happened in between, and a lot of important information has been lost." Furya shook her head.
"Alright, I understand."
Passing through one slightly twisted area after another, under strict protection, Bologue arrived at the starting point of this operation.
A grand door stood at the end of the field of vision, heavy and ancient, as if it were a solemn guardian.
"Gate of the Old Realm."
Bologue sighed lightly. This was how the Order Bureau named this door. It isolated the Holy City of Remongedon and, at the same time, ended the great era created by King Solomon.
The Gate of the Old Realm was cast and forged numerous times with molten iron. Its numbers are astounding, heavy as if a solid city wall; the iron surface is mottled and hard, carrying a chill, making one inevitably sense a heavy oppression.
However, time’s ravages have severely damaged the Gate of the Old Realm’s integrity. The door’s surface is covered with cracks and gaps, like a fragile sheet of paper, possibly shattering at any moment under wind and sun exposure.
The interwoven cracks resemble tectonic faults, and through these ruptures, one can see the profound darkness within. In some places within the cracks and gaps, collapse has occurred, forming uneven notches with sharp iron spikes remaining on the fractured edges, as if a tremendous impact had once struck them.
Surrounding the door, a pile of "No Passage" warning signs was scattered haphazardly and in disarray. The warning signs’ colors had long since faded, the text blurred, losing their original deterrent force; some signs bent, tilted, or even broken, as if hit by a mysterious force, like a helpless flock of birds, piled up at the door, feebly protesting their existence.
Beyond the door lay a muddled darkness. Bologue did not fear this; rather, he felt acquainted with it, the very scenery seen after opening the curved path.
After one last check of his equipment and confirming no issues, Bologue asked in his heart.
"Are you ready?"
Aimou did not respond to Bologue, but Bologue could feel a surge of Ether constantly empowering him. His cyan eyes glowed slightly, and a golden ring rose beside his pupils.
The Ether soared, and the Alchemy Matrix burned along with it.
Furya, standing nearby, noticed this and stared dumbfounded at those magnificent eyes, as if gemstones were set in Bologue’s eye sockets.
"Times are pressing; I must act before the enemy,"
Bologue said solemnly. This operation was unlike the time in the Ruins District, where he wandered aimlessly.
"Good luck," Furya gave Bologue a thumbs-up. "Do your best; as for the enemy, the Decision Room will handle them."
"Okay."
Bologue wasted no more words, taking a deep breath. The glow of the Alchemy Matrix spread across his body. In the next moment, he leaped like a meteor, plunging into the darkness of the Gate of the Old Realm without causing a ripple.
In the distorted sensation of being pulled away, Bologue felt as if he were sinking into the sea, carried and charged by a current.
Bologue did not panic. Instead, he felt an exhilarating sense of returning home; after all, in the long years past, Bologue’s destiny revolved under that high wall.
Having experienced countless events, Bologue finally surpassed the high wall.
