Chapter 1466 Searching For an Opportunity (2)

Arriving in front of the second danger zone, Chu Yang could not help marveling at the enormous complex of ancient ruins whose true purpose had long since been lost to the annals of time.

Although seemingly peaceful on the surface without any powerful demon beasts running around like all the other places he had visited inside the secret realm, he understood fully that this was a deadly location no less dangerous than the mountain range he had just fled from.

Even standing in front of the ancient ruins without entering them, he could still clearly sense the danger inside the ruins from the countless formations hidden inside.

If anything, the ancient ruins in front of him might actually be more dangerous than the mountain range, as he found out that he had no real way to try and sense the different formations after having arrived in front of the ancient ruins himself.

At first, he had intended on using his domain and divine sense to try and sense the different hidden formations inside the ancient ruins and move along a safe path in search of opportunities, but now that he had the opportunity to personally probe the ancient ruins with his domain and divine sense, he realized that the formations inside were hidden far deeper than he had expected.

Just standing on the edge of the ancient ruins, he could only barely sense a few of the formations in front of him... And that was mostly due to his powerful domain and divine sense that allowed him to essentially brute force his way into spotting the few formations due to his powerful soul.

The formations further inside the ancient ruins, on the other hand, rendered him completely helpless.

"A desert... Never imagined this secret realm to be so diverse, an endless grass plain, a mountain range stretching as far as the eye can see, a complex of ancient ruins without end and now a desert. Makes one wonder if this is also some kind of ancient testing ground for ancient cultivators similar to that mystic realm..."

Arriving at the third danger zone, a desert that seemed to start abruptly just as the forest with the entrance of the secret realm at the center of it came to an end, Chu Yang could not help voicing his thoughts out loud.

The secret realm was just far too weird for him to not consider it some kind of ancient training ground, as only something like that could explain the weird choice of environments that seemed to have been mashed together without any sense of reason behind it.

By far, the thing that supported these thoughts of his the most was the ancient ruins filled with hidden formations he had just visited not long ago, as he really couldn't see any other rhyme or reason to construct such a place with so many hidden formations if not for the purpose of testing or training.

Even more so when he remembered the weird architecture of the ancient ruin complex, it seemed to him like those ruins had not served any real purpose in the past before decaying into the ruins now present, but instead like they had always been ruins. Even when they had been created in the past.

Shaking his head as he thought about these suspicious points, Chu Yang focused his attention on the desert in front of him as he recalled the little information he had managed to gather about the place.

Hot... Unbearably hot to the point even someone in the Domain Lord Realm would be affected and filled with all kinds of powerful demon beasts. Outer edges of the desert can be considered safe to move around in for someone in the Domain Lord Realm. Beyond the 1000-kilometer mark, it becomes a true death zone where even Soul Ascension Realm demon beasts might appear.

The most prominent demon beast spotted so far being some kind of massive sandworm demon beast at the Soul Ascension Realm swallowing anything it sets its sight on. Escape immediately if discovered by it...
